Maxime AILLET 1888-1941 - Anemomorphic pines in Anglet
August 8, 1920 - watercolor Wind formed pines - From the ancient Greek anémos (άνεμος), meaning "wind", and morphos (μορφος), "form") is an accommodation which consists of the modification of the shape of plants and plant landscapes under the effect of strong winds. It constitutes a particular case of thigmomorphogenesis. This phenomenon is especially remarkable on the coast, in the mountains and at the top of vegetated skyscrapers.
