ABOUT US

We offer expertise in landscaping, urban planning and ecology for communities and businesses from concept to site monitoring in France and around the world.

SEMPERVIRENS, which means evergreen in Latin or persistent, is an international technical consultancy specializing in landscape, urban planning, environmental engineering and design.
The agency's projects reveal and enhance natural elements while preserving the ecosystem. Our projects magnify the wind, the sun, and the water cycle to express our neo-romantic creed: "Man as servant and protector of nature." We aim to rethink the relationship between humanity and its environment.

Philosophy

SEMPERVIRENS develops resource-efficient, hyper-contextual landscaping projects, using a majority of native plants. This botanical design approach creates unique atmospheres each time, as they are site-specific, adapted to the geology, pedology, microclimatology, etc. This approach aims to preserve heritage biodiversity and restore degraded ecosystems, unlike "standardized" plantations.
The form of the developments can, on the contrary, be very architectural, in dialogue with the buildings, in contrast with the natural ecosystem.

Sempervirens urban planners fight against urban sprawl, it is obvious that the interest of blending habitat and activities into nature is multiple. Allowing to reduce visual pollution, particularly on the coasts, but above all ecological by diversifying the hedges of monospecific thujas, the thick green roofs also allow to thermally insulate the buildings. This wild urbanization integrated into the ecosystem is possible for all building typologies and it is this great challenge that SEMPERVIRENS LANDSCAPERS takes up when we are entrusted with landscape and urban planning missions.

Who are we ?

The agency was created under the impetus of Frédéric-Charles AILLET, in 2004, while still a student, he imagined the SEMPERVIRENS project to provide creative solutions to the ecological crisis of the Anthropocene. In 2006, his work as a landscaper at Nicolas Michelin (ANMA) was noticed. This is how he was chosen to participate in the competition the French Embassy in Tokyo, Japan which he won. This garden will receive numerous awards: American Institute of Architects Prize 2012, Victoires du paysage 2014, Japanese BCS Building Contractors Society Award...

The SEMPERVIRENS team of engineers brings together multiple skills in the fields of ecological infrastructure, agriculture, the reconstitution of natural ecosystems, water management and development in listed heritage sites, but also in the fight against water and air pollution and the implementation of participatory developments.

The agency is based in Paris and works on all types of programs in France and around the world.
